Job Description:

Express Employment Professionals of Clarksville is currently seeking reliable, industrious, and experienced candidates for a Finishing Operator position for a Steel Tubing Manufacturer. This position will pay $17.00 per hour, and the hours are Monday-Thursday from 8:00PM-6:00AM. Fridays are overtime from 8PM-2AM and Saturdays are overtime-volunteer only.

 Responsibilities:

• Ability to operate department equipment: Stretcher, Saws, Blaster, Sander Furnace, Pickling Area, Bump Presses, and Inspection, in a safe and efficient manner
• Participates in Continuous Improvement activities and maintains Company Standards
• Reviews/records component data, when needed
• Execute the production plan to ensure on time delivery to customers
• Updates Value Stream Leader and or department LPM on employee, quality, production and safety issues
• Inspects and inventories site-generated hazardous waste staging areas
• Assists the transfer of site-generated hazardous waste to on-site staging areas
• Directs storage of site-generated hazardous waste in the hazardous waste staging areas
• Conducts inspections of Satellite Accumulation Areas
• Understands, applies and advocates all Company Environmental and Safety policies, procedures and standards
• Attends all prerequisite training as required by management
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Has the authority to stop process to correct quality, safety or environmental problems, and to promptly notify Supervisory personnel when processes are noncompliant
• Good attitude, performance, and attendance is essential

Qualifications:

• Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.
• Possesses a High School Diploma or GED
• Previous manufacturing experience is preferred
• Must have working knowledge of Windows operating systems and programs, Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use calipers
• Demonstrates ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, decimals, negative and positive numbers
• Demonstrates ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs & use the Metric System.

• Can speak and communicate effectively to technical and non-technical team members
• Can correctly interpret documents such as written instructions, spreadsheets, drawings, lists and manuals
• Must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision
• Able to be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment and stored energy in the form of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and gravitational energy
• Able to work in a noisy environment
• Able to be frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat
• Able to be exposed to fumes or dust
• Capable of complying with all Safety requirements including the use of PPE
