As a Specialty Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for practicing safety at all times with machines and materials by understanding their limitations, properties, and potential risks. Maintaining a clean workspace is crucial. You will engage in tasks such as galvanized duct layout, cutting, bending, and assembly, as well as cutting and bending 10ft. lengths of architectural trim profiles. Your duties will also include forming, assembling, and soldering copper roof flanges, assisting customers with order pickups and loading, TIG welding thin gauge stainless steel and other metals, and shearing flats to specific dimensions. Measuring, forming, and fitting custom panels to existing substrates, programming and folding custom parts on a computerized folding machine, cleaning parts after laser cutting, and finishing and polishing welds and metal surfaces, including patina of metals, are also part of the job. You will spray clear coat finishes, become proficient with hand, power, and CNC tools or machines, and work as part of a team to complete jobs exceeding customer specifications. Timeliness, adherence to moral and ethical principles, flexibility with job schedules, following the company's dress code for appearance and safety, and giving and receiving constructive feedback are essential. Personal cell phone use should be limited to emergencies. Additionally, you will design and create metal parts and assemblies in 2D & 3D using SolidWorks and SigmaNest software, import files, set up and program parts for laser cutting, and become familiar with laser operation, functions, and capabilities. When no CAD or programming work is available, you will assist in general fabrication and communicate with customers and the team to clarify order details and design expectations. Training in part design and assembly specific to our industry and software will be provided.
