Forklift Operator / Material Handler

Salary: $21.80

Our client, a manufacturing facility located in Stittsville, is currently looking to hire a Full-Time Forklift Operator / Material Handler. The ideal candidate is familiar with operating a Forklift as well as a Reach Truck.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Safety Conscious
• Minimum 1-year experience operating a forklift on a frequent daily basis
• Previous order picking and material handling experience
• Ability to work independently / in a team
• Must be able and willing to learn
• Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
• Must have own vehicle (public transportation not available)
• Valid forklift certificate considered an asset

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Lifting up to 50lbs
• Operating mechanical equipment, including forklift, reach forklift, pallet jack, and handcart
• Unloading inbound material and double checking the materials received
• Loading trucks of finished products for shipping
• Picking orders based on allocated order sheets
• Verifying accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on invoice or packing slip and purchase orders
• Moving stock manually and maintaining inventory
• Maintaining a safe and clean environment
• Working safely and efficiently
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

The wage for this position starts at $21.80 per hour.

Available Shift:

·         Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 5:30pm for 2 to 3 weeks during the training period then switching to 9:30am to 6:00pm
