Position: Fabrication Welder

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Welder to join our team for a 3-month temporary assignment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in TIG welding stainless steel, metal finishing, and performing preventative maintenance on various shop equipment. Additionally, the candidate will assist in assembling production units according to specifications and quality standards. This role requires a mid to senior level professional who is competent with various tools and machinery. Flexibility, a desire to continuously improve, and the ability to work closely on a team are essential.

 

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG welding on stainless steel components.
• Conduct metal finishing tasks including sandblasting and grinding.
• Operate and maintain shop equipment such as vertical mills, drill presses, and horizontal lathes.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment including vertical mills, drill presses, horizontal lathes, and TIG welders.
• Aid in the assembly of production units according to specifications and quality standards.
• Ensure all work is performed to high safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to improve processes and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Safety-conscious.
• Mid to senior level experience in a similar role.
• Able to operate sanders, grinders, saws, etc., to cut, bend, grind, and adjust materials.
• Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a tight-knit team.
• Proficiency with hand tools and shop machinery including vertical mills, drill presses, horizontal lathes, and TIG welders.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Able to sit or stand for long periods.
• Able to lift at least 75 pounds or more.
• High school diploma or higher education level.

Skills and Competencies:

• Excellent hand-eye coordination and precision in welding and metal finishing tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform tasks independently.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Tools & Equipment Required:

• Flame retardant jacket.
• Welding helmet.
• Welding gloves.
