General Purpose of the Job:

This position is responsible for our production of electrical control panels. The main objective of a Control Panel Technician is to gain the mastery of building control panels and obtain all knowledge that is taught/acquired.  This involves wire handling, wire labeling, terminal labeling, knowing how to adequately layout sub-panels/enclosures, understanding appropriate wire-duct sizes and reading various forms of schematics. A Control Panel Technician must use various hand tools in an accurate and efficient manner.

 

Position Summary:

To ensure success as a Control Panel Technician, they must get results while demonstrating the ability to listen/learn, follow direction/guidance, use proper hierarchy for questions, be on time, be reliable, be respectful to others, be a team player, accurately complete the job and daily time reports, take accurate notes, demonstrate courteous and professional attitude, keep work-space clean and organized and provide accurate documentation of work completed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Assemble electrical systems and support structures. Install various components, units, subassemblies, wiring.
  • Wire point to point using various forms of electrical schematics.
  • Using computer-based applications for label making
  • Position, align and adjust workpieces and electrical parts to facilitate wiring, labeling and assembly.
  • Confer with supervisors to plan/review work related activities to resolve production problems
  • Accurately perform point to point wiring, post assembly and labeling per industry standards.
  • Safety operates a variety of power tools, hand tools, and lifting devices used in the assembly process.
  • Identify and select appropriate unstructured components and fasteners as may be required for proper assembly.

 

 

                                                                                                                                       

Qualifications

 

  • At least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Basic understanding of various hand tools.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude or desire to learn, must be apparent.
  • Willingness to be trained by more experienced staff members.
