Ground Hand Laborer

 

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Ground Hand Laborer for a leading internet and phone service provider that offers ultra-high-speed fiber optic broadband to residential and business customers in the area. We are looking for laborers to join the construction crew and help them build and maintain their network.

Schedule and Compensation

• The workweek schedule is 6:30am - 4:00 / 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. However it is flexible and there may be nights and weekends where work is required.
• You will need to arrive early at the yard in Eugene, where you will shuttle with the rest of the crew to the jobsite.
• The starting pay is $18 - $19 per hour, depending on your experience. You will also have the opportunity to advance your skills and salary through training courses.
• Once you are hired directly by the company, there will be a comprehensive benefits package.

 

Job Description

• As a laborer, you will be taking direction from the foreman and lineman on the crew. Your main duties will include digging holes, digging trenches, pulling ropes, and assisting with other tasks as needed. You will also be responsible for following safety procedures and wearing the appropriate equipment.

 

Requirements

• To be successful in this role, you need to be hard-working, reliable, and able to work long days (12–14 hours) and sometimes nights.
• Will need to be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• You will need to bring your own water and lunch for the day, as there will not be time to buy food or stop by a store during breaks.
• Have your own work boots (no Romeos) and jeans and T-shirt. All other safety equipment will be provided.
