Shift: Monday - Friday, 5:30 am - 2:00 pm

Position Summary: 

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for operating a forklift and other material handling equipment for the purpose of shipping, receiving, and picking. Activities may include but are not limited to loading or unloading, scanning, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. This individual is also responsible for counting and inspecting product and notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. The employee is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will be expected to perform all duties as assigned.

Job Description:

General Responsibilities:

• Operate sit-down forklifts to load, unload, move, stack, and store products or materials.
• Handle large crates/freight items, which can be up to 115 inches tall and weigh between 1,000 and 15,000 pounds.
• Stack 2-3 crates on top of each other, ensuring careful handling of valuable items.

Shipping Responsibilities:

• Efficiently and accurately load orders according to the appropriate doors and trailers.
• Process all shipping functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.

Receiving Responsibilities:

• Efficiently and accurately locate and place products in the appropriate storage areas.
• Process all receiving functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.

Picking Responsibilities:

• Accurately pick orders to fulfill client demands and stage them in the appropriate areas.
• Stack, package, band, shrink wrap, and label products as determined by client requirements.
• Process all picking functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.

Quality Control Responsibilities:

• Use appropriate documentation to ensure all products and orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly.
• Verify that products and/or orders meet quality standards, including reporting any damages or discrepancies.
• Prioritize quality over quantity, paying attention to detail when handling high-value items.
• Operate three types of sit-down forklifts (Hyster and Yale brand).

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months experience in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment.
• 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
• 3-5 years of forklift experience moving heavy freight items ranging between 1,000 lbs. and 15,000 lbs. 
• Ability to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

Computer Skills:

• Basic computer skills.
• Experience with RF Scanners.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management System (WMS) functions.

Language Skills:

• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, verbal).

Mathematical Skills:

• Basic to intermediate skills to verify product quantities, count inventory, and perform other related duties.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and walk for full 8 hour shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.

Other Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision.
• Adaptability to change and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or prior MHE certification.
