Customer Service Representative & Returns/Order Processor

 

 

Job Summary: We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative Jr. to join our team. This role involves processing orders, handling returns, and providing top-notch customer service. The ideal candidate will be adept at data entry, possess excellent communication skills, and be comfortable working with multiple computer screens and various Microsoft software.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming and outgoing phone calls with customers and sales representatives.
  • Send and respond to emails promptly and professionally.
  • Process orders and handle inquiries received by phone, fax, and EDI.
  • Verify pricing on purchase orders, enter orders into the system, and review for accuracy.
  • Provide pricing quotes to customers.
  • Assist customers with order status, backorder status, and freight charges.
  • Research and resolve issues related to orders.
  • Initiate and issue return goods authorizations and warehouse research forms via the Makita portal.
  • Maintain detailed daily reports and customer information.
  • Stay current on system and process changes.
  • Assist the Customer Service Manager and Supervisor with special projects.
  • Meet all expected minimum KPI requirements, including but not limited to upselling for customer service.

Education, Skills, and/or Experience Needed:

  • High School diploma is required.
  • Positive attitude, friendly personality, and a passion for working with people.
  • Diplomatic, patient, and a good listener.
  • Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think on your feet.
  • Thorough understanding of Makita USA systems and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, supervisors, sales reps, and customer service reps.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Work at a computer for 8 hours a day while answering calls, responding to emails, and compiling reports.
  • May require light lifting, bending, stooping, or reaching.
  • May be required to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Handle inquiries related to the power tool industry.
  • Assist new and existing customers by explaining features, clarifying operating instructions, locating dealers, processing orders, providing troubleshooting tips, diagnosing technical issues, and assisting with repair requests.
