Driving Possibilities is a new career readiness and community enrichment initiative through Toyota Mississippi. It is a new way to partner with schools, nonprofits and the community to help all students succeed—at school and in the careers of the future. The goal is to close educational gaps for all students through innovative, hands-on STEM programming that aligns with and increases student achievement. It also includes professional and leadership development for teachers to support STEM education and student achievement.

 

The primary responsibility of this role will be the successful management and oversight of multi-million-dollar grant program while engaging and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders—both industry and education. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with experience in grant management, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive the strategic objectives of the program through data-driven decision making and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter and be a team-oriented individual who builds strong relationships across all involved sectors and stakeholders with keen project management, accountability and communication skills.

 

Reporting to the Vice President of Toyota Wellspring Education Fund at CREATE and collaborating with Toyota Mississippi and multiple school district leadership the person in this role will be solely focused on implementation of the Toyota Mississippi Driving Possibilities program. This is a 5-year grant funded position.

 

Position Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Community Relations, Non-Profit Enterprise Management or related field

·         Three+ years experience in grant management, program oversite, and project management

·         Strong understanding financial reporting

·         Excellent written and verbal communication

·         Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders

Position Responsibilities:

·         Manage the grant program in compliance with guidelines and reporting requirements

·         Build strong relationships with district leadership, schools, CREATE, Toyota, and industry partners

·         Manage budgets ensuring accurate and efficient use of resources

·         Preparing regular progress reports, impact assessments, and other documentation required by regulatory authorities and employer (CREATE)

·         Maintain accurate and detailed records of grant-related activities

·         Contribute to the development of strategic plans for the program alignment with all stakeholders’ goals

·         Propose improvements and innovations to enhance the effectiveness of the program

  • Other Administrative duties as assigned

Optimal Experience Includes:

·         Familiarity with automotive industry and corporate social responsibility initiatives

·         Prior experience in workforce development or education

·         Bilingual English/Spanish

Compensation:

·         This is an exempt, contract management position administered through a third party (Express Employment Professionals, Tupelo, MS)

·         Annual salary $65,000 with opportunity for annual increases

·         PTO and flexible work schedules/locations
