Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Coffee Shop/Diner Manager who is passionate about inclusivity and has experience working with individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure a welcoming environment where all patrons, including those with disabilities, feel valued and respected.

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

Operational Management:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the coffee shop/diner, ensuring smooth functioning of all aspects of service.
  • Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff members, including individuals with disabilities.
  • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, coaching, and support.
  • Schedule shifts and manage payroll effectively.

Customer Service:

  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained.
  • Train staff to provide attentive service to all customers, including those with disabilities, ensuring their needs are met.

Inclusivity and Accessibility:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote inclusivity and accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and disability advocates to enhance accessibility and awareness.

Financial Management:

  • Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Implement strategies to maximize sales and profitability while controlling costs.

Quality Control:

  • Maintain high-quality food and beverage standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in products served.
  • Address customer feedback and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Proven experience as a manager in the food and beverage industry, preferably in a coffee shop or diner setting.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities and a strong commitment to inclusivity.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Financial acumen and ability to manage budgets effectively.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Certification in food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Experience with accessibility audits and improvements.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies and accommodations for disabilities.
