Express Employment is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for a long-standing local company. The ideal candidate will have experience in full cycle A/P and excellent communication. This is a Full time, Evaluation to Hire position.

 

Pay range: $23- $27/hour

Responsibilities:

• Experience Executing full-cycle A/P for a construction company.
• Ensure prompt and accurate entry of vendor invoices.
• Address customer service needs of internal business partners.
• Resolve discrepancies with vendors and subcontractors.
• Perform job closing duties and lien waiver verifications.
• Reconcile open POs for accurate Job Cost reports.
• Process payments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Apply sales tax rules and identify exceptions.
• Prioritize invoices based on cash discount potential and payment terms.
• Reconcile credit card payments and vendor statements.
• Compare invoices to purchase orders and other charges.
• Scan and archive data efficiently.
• Recommend and implement process improvements.
• Participate in cross-training and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
• Support company improvement projects.
• Establish, update, and execute policies and procedures.
• Maintain positive relationships with department, field personnel, and vendors.

 

Qualities:

• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy, detail, and timeliness.
• Minimum 2 years experience on the job experience in Accounts Payable. 
• Proficient in 10-key and keyboarding by touch; accurate with numbers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting professionally with employees and vendors at all levels.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
• Analytical skills for expense reporting and special projects.
• High degree of tact and diplomacy.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and systems.
