Express Employment Professionals is seeking a competent Shop Hand for a crane manufacturing company established in 1977. Our job shop atmosphere provides multiple areas to excel, with limitless opportunities for growth in heavy equipment painting, hydraulics, machining, electrical work, and more.
Position Details:
- Job Title: Shop Hand
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm (one hour of overtime each day)
- Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour (DOE)
Responsibilities and Duties:
- On-the-job training in painting, hydraulics, welding, etc.
- Prepping and painting
- Cleaning parts
- Tearing apart and rebuilding cylinders, gearboxes, valves, and pumps
- Learning, ordering parts, and restocking
- General labor
- Checking in and putting away parts
- Packing and shipping
- Yard and building maintenance
- Shop clean-up
- Operating forklift
- Running errands
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift heavy items up to 75 pounds (overhead cranes and forklifts provided)
- Reliability with a strong work ethic
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to move quickly to stay out of hazardous situations
- Capability to handle a fast-paced, high-intensity workplace
- Willingness to work 40+ hours per week
- Ability to move safely up and down ladders
