Senior Accountant

Located in Edmonton, AB

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000/year

An Edmonton client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team.

Senior Accountant Highlights:

·         Managing Full Cycle Accounting for 3 Companies:

·         Accounts Payable (AP):

·         Process 32 invoices per week, totaling around $42K per invoice monthly.

·         Accounts Receivable (AR):

·         Manage 18 invoices per week, totaling around $231K per invoice monthly.

·         Reconciliation:

·         Reconcile 12 to 15 accounts per month, including 7 bank accounts, 2 credit cards, and 7 bank statements.

·         Accounting Tasks:

·         Code and load entries into AP, approximately 30-60 minutes once a month at month-end.

·         Perform auto reclass entry from payroll clearing, approximately 10 minutes.

·         Set up assets throughout the month, totaling 1 hour, requiring access to DocLink for invoice retrieval.

·         Run depreciation and update working papers once assets are set up, approximately 1 hour.

·         Verify debt schedules and create current portions, approximately 1 hour.

·         Create working papers for taxes (GST/PST), approximately 1 hour.

·         Reconcile Amex and Cat statements, approximately 1 hour.

·         Manage rebate accruals, approximately 10 minutes.

·         Conduct intercompany reconciliation weekly to verify transactions are posted in each company, approximately 1 hour.

·         Verify intercompany AR/AP entries weekly to ensure internal entries by AR are posted by AP, approximately 1 hour.

·         Additional Responsibilities:

·         Track capital assets schedules using MS Excel.

·         Manage full cycle accounting for both Canadian and US companies.

·         Qualifications:

·         3+ years of full cycle accounting experience.

·         Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

·         Proficiency in DocLink, MS Excel, Open Invoice, Cortex, and QuickBooks.

·         Skills:

·         Strong organizational and reconciliation skills.

·         Effective time management and ability to handle multiple tasks.

·         Excellent communication skills for intercompany and vendor interactions.

·         8:00 am – 4:30 pm – Monday to Friday

·         $60,000 - $70,000/year
