An Edmonton client is seeking a Contract Facilities Manager to join their team.

Contract Facilities Manager Highlights:

·         Administration:

·         Review and approve monthly time balances for direct reports.

·         Create and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule.

·         Create and maintain an inventory control system.

·         Oversee record-keeping and databases for maintenance and inventory.

·         Create and maintain a contractor database, including daily logs of onsite maintenance work.

·         Participate in after-hours on-call rotation schedule and be available for building emergencies.

·         Oversee the agency’s tenant relations, lease agreements, and City tax exemptions.

·         Building Safety & Risk Management:

·         Be Knowledge of building codes, regulations, bylaws, and policies.

·         Be knowledgeable and aware of general construction and maintenance procedures.

·         Be knowledgeable and aware of when to contact tradespersons to complete a task or repair.

·         Be knowledgeable and aware of inspection procedures.

·         Be knowledgeable and aware of workplace safety requirements and procedures.

·         Maintain a list of reliable contractors, including after-hours support and contacts.

·         Maintain timely expense reporting and documentation.

·         Oversee processing and submission of invoices as required.

·         Notify your immediate supervisor of any potential and immediate matters that require financial decisions outside the Manager’s decision-making scope.

·         Provide information to assist with setting current and projected agency budget priorities.

·         Policy:

·         Set division-level policies and practices and ensure compliance.

·         Oversee the safety and security within facilities.

·         Encourage information exchange and discussion across Agency teams.

·         Contribute to Agency-level direction and policy.

·         Human Resources:

·         Ensure recruitment, retention, and termination of division staff.

·         Set supervision structure and standards at the division level.

·         Complete regular supervision and Annual Performance Appraisals.

·         Provide day-to-day supervision to assigned staff.

·         Notify the immediate supervisor of any potential and immediate human resource issues.

·         Ensure core training for staff is maintained and identify supplemental training opportunities.

·         Participate in core agency and additional ongoing training opportunities as directed and approved.

·         Critical Criteria:

·         Post-secondary education in a related field (technical diploma, engineering degree, etc.).

·         five years’ experience with building maintenance oversight and supervising employees.

·         Experience working with high-risk individuals and high-need populations, including residential programs.

·         A combination of education and experience may be considered instead of the above.

·         Demonstrated ability to manage financial budgets effectively.

·         Experience in risk management, including building safety, client and staff safety, confidentiality, duty of care, and mandatory reporting according to relevant legislation.

·         Proven ability to diplomatically establish, navigate, and develop relationships and partnerships within the sector.

·         Proven ability to provide leadership and direction and establish a positive culture for a team.

·         Proven ability to think critically and strategically.

·         Proven ability to maintain composure and effectively manage crises.

·         Proven ability for written and verbal communication.

·         Proven ability to lead teams through change.

·         Valid First Aid and CPR certification as required.

·         Criminal Record Check, Enhanced Reliability, and Child Intervention Check.

·         General computer and database knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).

·         Reliable vehicle and valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

·         8:00 am – 5:00 pm – Monday to Friday

·         $70,000 - 80,000/year
