Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled and motivated HR Generalist to join a reputable construction company. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in managing various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding:

    • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection.
    • Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Employee Relations:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
    • Address and resolve employee issues, conflicts, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Benefits Administration:

    • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
    • Assist employees with benefits-related questions and enrollment processes.
  • Compliance and Record-Keeping:

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
    • Prepare and submit required HR reports and documentation.
  • Performance Management:

    • Support the performance review process, including goal setting, evaluations, and feedback.
    • Assist in developing and implementing performance improvement plans.
  • Training and Development:

    • Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
    • Conduct HR-related training sessions for employees and managers.
  • HR Policy and Procedure:

    • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
    • Ensure employees understand and adhere to company policies.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Collaborate with the safety team to ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations.
    • Participate in safety training and initiatives to promote a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
