 Job Title: Structural Welder

 Summary:
A Structural Welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components by welding, cutting, and shaping materials according to blueprints and specifications. This role requires a high degree of precision and attention to detail to ensure the integrity and safety of the structures being created.

#### Key Responsibilities:
1. **Welding and Fabrication:**
   - Perform welding tasks using various techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, arc welding) on different metals such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
   - Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements and operational sequences.
   - Utilize appropriate welding tools and equipment, including torches, jigs, and clamps.

2. **Material Preparation:**
   - Measure, cut, and prepare materials for welding, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
   - Use cutting torches, saws, grinders, and other metalworking tools to prepare parts and assemblies.

3. **Assembly and Installation:**
   - Align and fit parts and components together, using bolts, clamps, and welding equipment to secure joints.
   - Assemble and install structural components in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
   - Perform post-weld clean-up and inspection to ensure high-quality finishes and structural integrity.

4. **Quality Control:**
   - Inspect welded joints and structures for defects, such as cracks or incomplete penetration, and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
   - Conduct tests and inspections to verify the quality and strength of welds.
   - Maintain detailed records of welding activities and results, including materials used and tests performed.

5. **Safety and Maintenance:**
   - Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
   - Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
   - Stay updated with the latest welding techniques and industry standards.

#### Qualifications:
- **Education and Experience:**
  - High school diploma or equivalent.
  - Completion of a recognized welding apprenticeship or vocational training program.
  - Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in structural welding or a related field.

- **Certifications:**
  - Certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent is preferred.
  - Specialized certifications in specific welding techniques or materials may be required.

- **Skills:**
  - Proficiency in various welding techniques and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  - Strong attention to detail and precision in executing welding tasks.
  - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  - Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various positions.

#### Working Conditions:
- Work is typically performed in industrial settings, such as construction sites, fabrication shops, or shipyards.
- Exposure to high temperatures, noise, and hazardous materials may occur, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Occasional travel to different job sites may be required, depending on the project's location.
