Job Summary:  We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to join a growing team.  The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of all machinery and equipment within the facility.  This position requires strong leadership skills to oversee a team of maintenance personnel and implement strategies to minimize downtime and maximize productivity while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.  Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program, integrating predictive maintenance techniques to proactively address issues and minimize downtime.
  • Lead and mentor a team of mechanics and maintenance personnel, establishing work schedules, immediate response protocols, and safety training initiatives to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams and shifts through a structured work order system, regular reporting mechanisms, and peer-to-peer check-ins.
  • Utilize troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues promptly, minimizing disruptions to production processes.
  • Collaborate with various departments to maintain the mechanical integrity of all plant systems, providing timely updates on the status of mechanical systems and any anticipated changes.
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily logs and maintenance software databases, and assist in the development and review of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance procedures.
  • Analyze running expenses, capital project expenses, and downtime metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements, reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) regularly.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in maintenance at an industrial manufacturing plant, with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Mechanical design and project management experience is essential.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with proficiency in maintenance record-keeping through maintenance software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a respectful and demanding approach to working with team members, departments, contractors, and vendors.
  • Proven track record of success as a Maintenance Manager, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks considered beneficial.
  • Certification such as Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) accreditation is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of pumps, blowers, boilers, and pneumatic systems
