Salary: $18.50-$19.50 DOE

Furniture Upholsterer Job Summary: An expanding manufacturer in Grand Rapids in the furniture industry has full-time openings in their Upholstery operations. These positions are for candidates with high-level experience in furniture upholstery.

Furniture Upholsterer Responsibilities:

• Build furniture from loose fiber stuffing, cotton, felt, foam padding
• Form smooth, rounded surfaces and fit, install and secure material to frames
• Work with hand tools, power tools, glue, staple or fasteners
• Carefully matching and measuring the materials to the exact dimensions and fabric pattern alignment
• Reading work orders
• Planning material usage to minimize waste
• Cutting stacks of upholstery material to specifications
• Working from templates and patterns
• Working with fine fabrics to upholster furniture products

Schedule & Pay: 

• 1st Shift; Monday – Friday 5:00am-1:30pm plus overtime as needed
• $18.50-$19.50/HR depending on experience

Furniture Upholsterer Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of upholstery experience
• Sewing machine experience
• Precise measuring and strong math skills
• Mechanical aptitude
• Able to work independently or on a team
• Self-directed
