Senior Accountant  

Located in Edmonton, AB

An Edmonton client is searching for a Senior Accountant to join their team.

Senior Accountant Highlights:

·         Accounting Operations:

·         Ensure the effective operation of the Accounting department.

·         Assist in the review and analysis of monthly financial reports.

·         Prepare monthly management reporting packages, including financial and operational analysis presentations and corporate results commentary.

·         Manage the month-end close process.

·         Financial Analysis:

·         Calculate and maintain manufacturing labor and overhead rates.

·         Analyze and report on manufacturing variances, product costs, and inventories.

·         Reconcile and analyze various general ledger accounts.

·         Budgeting and Forecasting:

·         Participate in the annual budget process and operational and financial results forecasting.

·         Reconcile and report royalties to premium threading licensors.

·         Tax and Compliance:

·         Assist in the preparation and/or review of Canadian income tax returns and filings.

·         Ensure all US tax compliance filing and reporting requirements are met.

·         Support Functions:

·         Provide support to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll-related tasks and activities.

·         Maintain the capital asset continuity schedule and record acquisitions and disposals of fixed assets.

·         Handle other projects and tasks as directed by the Controller.

·         Position Qualifications and Experience:

·         A degree or diploma in Accounting or Business Studies.

·         Pursuing a CPA designation is an asset.

·         5+ years of professional finance and accounting experience.

·         Skilled with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

·         Knowledge of network platforms, including Microsoft Office and Dynamics AX.

·         General knowledge of products and services related to the Oil and Gas industry.

·         Strong problem-solving ability, analytical and organizational skills.

·         Familiarity with safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.

·         Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

·         Office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use.

·         Wearing personal protective equipment as required.
