Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Carpenter/Framer to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in residential construction, particularly in building homes from the ground up. You will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood and other materials. Your primary focus will be on framing houses, ensuring the structural integrity and accuracy of the builds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials.
• Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
• Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients.
• Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding.
• Collaborate with other carpenters, contractors, and laborers to complete projects efficiently.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety guidelines and building codes.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a carpenter and framer in residential construction.
• Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.).
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Physical stamina and dexterity.
• High school diploma; successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred.

Skills:

• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods.
• Good knowledge of English.
• Good understanding of basic math.
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times.
• Good physical condition and endurance.
