An Edmonton client is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join their team.

 

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Highlights:

 

·         Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on various industrial equipment setups.

·         Troubleshoot and repair automated machinery, including disassembling and reassembling components, replacing motors, bearings, chains, and engaging in fabrication tasks.

·         Participate in an effective work planning process that utilizes work orders, planners, and parts staging.

·         Exhibit a willingness to take initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

·         Maintain high energy levels and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Update maintenance records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) accurately and timely.

·         Challenges/Problem Solving:

·         Execute necessary repairs or coordinate with external trades for repair execution.

·         Manage consumables and parts inventory adhering to kanban systems.

·         Address additional duties as required to meet ongoing organizational needs.

·         Authority/Decision Making:

·         This role does not include decision-making responsibilities but focuses on operational execution and problem resolution under established guidelines.

·         Key Contacts:

·         Internal: Service Centre Manager, Shift Supervisor, Maintenance Team Leader, Safety & CI Representatives.

·         External: Contractors.

·         Qualifications:

·         Essential:

·         Licensed Maintenance Millwright 433A or Industrial Electrician 442A with strong mechanical skills.

·         Self-motivated and capable of executing standard tasks with minimal supervision.

·         Availability to work overtime as needed.

·         Desirable:

·         Dual trade certification, including an Electrical license, is a significant asset.

·         Experience:

·         Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance role.

·         Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical control systems.

·         High degree of computer literacy, proficient in Excel and Word.

·         Red Seal Certification preferred.

·         Skills and Knowledge:

·         Ability to execute standard maintenance tasks independently.

·         Reliable in executing work according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

·         Skilled in analyzing equipment issues and identifying solutions.

·         Basic machine shop skills including hand filing, using a drill press, measuring, grinding, and welding capabilities.

·         Job Level Preference:

·         Open to 3rd, 4th year apprentices, or Journeyman Mechanics (preferred).
