JOB REQUIREMENTS

 1.            Training, knowledge and satisfactory performance of job responsibilities as outlined below.

 2.            Training and knowledge of the Cross Contamination Policy

 3.            Training and completion of OSHA Safe Forktruck Training Procedures

 4.            Training and knowledge of the following safety procedures:

                a.            Fork Truck Operating Procedures

                b.            Propane/Butane Tank Filling Procedure

                 c.            Drum Crusher Safety Procedure

                 d.            Personal Protective Equipment

 5.           Training in EPA Waste handling procedures

 6.            Training and knowledge of WI-INVPRO, Work Instructions, Inventory Control Procedures.

 7.            Training and knowledge of the MSDS Information.

 8.           Be able to lift a maximum of fifty-five (55) pounds repetitively.

 9.           Be able to work any shift and overtime when required.

10.          Must be able wear a negative pressure respirator.

11.          Must be able to stand for up to eight (8) hours.            

12.          Will be required to shower after every shift. 

 

CROSS CONTAMINATION POLICY - The most important part of this job is to recognize the different goods as they are received and to store them in the proper area for use at a later time.  READ  THE CROSS CONTAMINATION POLICY THOROUGHLY.  ANY WILLFUL  VIOLATION OF THIS POLICY IS IMMEDIATE GROUNDS FOR DISCHARGE.  Never mix goods in a row unless directed to do so and even then never store them in a mixed row with‑out the proper barricades such as chains and signs being put in place between the 2 different goods.   All goods received must be counted and identified as they are described on the bill of lading. Never sign any bill of lading for receivables with out first counting and checking labels against what is stated on bill of lading.  When transferring product out of storage to dump rooms, the driver must check labels on product to ensure it matches to what product is to be packaged. A record of the number of drums are removed must also be kept.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1.             Responsible for unloading and loading all trailers.

2.            Responsible for properly recording and storing all incoming goods.  Also responsible for recording and loading any goods for outgoing shipment.

3.             Responsible for supplying the packaging line (dump room) with proper raw materials.  Also responsible for removing empty drums or containers from dump rooms.

4.             Responsible for crushing and banding for removal to the landfill container.

5.             Responsible for performing checks on his or her assigned fork truck at the start of every shift.  If any items listed on the check sheet are found to be in a non-working condition, it is the responsibility of the fork truck operator to bring this to the attention of a maintenance mechanic for repair.

6.             Any unsafe condition should be reported ASAP, the truck should be removed from service until deemed safe to operate by supervision.

7.             Along with other employees, responsible for keeping the plant clean and orderly.

8.             Perform other tasks as instructed by supervision or management.

 

 

FORK TRUCK OPERATOR

 

HEALTH/SAFETY

1.             Never operate any equipment that you have not been trained on.

2.             Safe Fork Truck driving rules are to be followed at all times.

3.             All employees are expected to work safely at all times and follow all plant rules.

4.             All employees are to report any injury immediately to Supervision.

5.             All employees should make every effort to correct any unsafe conditions they observe.  If not correctable, unsafe conditions should be immediately reported to supervision.        

 

Employees will be supplied with basic safety equipment and services such as:

 

a.        coveralls                                       

b.       safety glasses

c.        gloves                                            

d.       shower facilities & lockers                       

e.        respirator as required for job

 

The employee will be required to have on site one pair of steel-toed safety shoes to work in and clothes to wear under coveralls such as, shirt, pants, socks, and underclothes.  These items are to kept at the plant and will be washed on site.  Almost all areas are heated and cooled but during winter it maybe advisable to have some type of jacket available.
