Salary: $85,000+ BOE

Working in a contract manufacturing environment, this Cost Accountant position is responsible for costing of all production jobs, understanding of bills of materials, costing of material inventories, the tracking of production data against standard cost data, as well as preparation of internal monthly P&L statements. This position would have further responsibilities identifying cost reduction opportunities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Conduct daily job costing review for customer orders.

· Review bill of materials and process masters for accuracy of job costing.

· Review and make recommendations for cutting expenses, applying for grant money or additional ways to create revenue.

· Collaborate with all levels of management to review aspects of each work order job and incurred expenses.

· Develop methods for tracking and reporting job costs.

· Semi-annual inventory costing and review of inventory discrepancies by job.

· Complete request for quote by customers.

· Provide input on capital investments needed to reduce cost.

· Maintain fixed asset schedule.

· Prepare monthly Profit and Loss statement.

· Vendor contract management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

· Extensive understanding of manufacturing costing and Bill of Materials

· Proficient in English (communication & reading)

· Experience in managing inventory stock counts

· Solid understanding of accounting

· Effective organization skills

· Strong oral and written communication, computer literacy and effective project management skills

· Ability to multi-task and foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration

· Attentive and detail oriented

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
College degree in accounting or equivalent 10+ years of experience.

EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· 5+ Years of experience in manufacturing

· 5+ Years of experience in accounting in a manufacturing setting

· Demonstrates advanced leadership and communication skills.

· Computer proficiencies for systems supporting accounting functions including Word & Excel, accounting software and an MRP/ERP system.

· 3+ years of inventory management experience

Job Type: Full-time, ON SITE in the office
