You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment used in our concrete supply operations. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our fleet operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair:

    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, trucks, and other heavy equipment.
    • Inspect engines, transmissions, and other parts for wear and tear and diagnose issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
    • Replace worn or defective parts, such as bearings, pistons, and gears.
    • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment longevity and reliability.
  • Troubleshooting:

    • Use computerized and manual diagnostic methods to identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
    • Determine the causes of operating errors and decide what to do about them.
  • Record Keeping:

    • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
    • Document all repairs and parts replacements.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in diesel mechanics or related field.
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
