EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

• Sprays areas with herbicides assuring control of noxious weeds without harm or destruction to adjacent vegetation on public lands, road sites, canal banks and private fields.

• Mixes various herbicides to the correct proportions for the job, assess wind direction and speed, possibility of chemicals leaching and other conditions which may result in improper and hazardous applications of herbicide.

• Records location of problem weed areas, areas that have been sprayed and areas of future needs on the appropriate maps of Southwest Montana. Assists in recording services rendered to property owners noting extent of spraying operations and fees to be charged.

• May be required to work unconventional work hours and be subject to call-back or stand-by status due to weather conditions.

• Performs any and all duties as required or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to work effectively with assigned personnel, other departments, agencies and the public; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

• Must be able to walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, lift, sit and squat with approximately forty (40) pounds for a minimum of six (6) hours per day, sometimes in rough terrain.
