Our client in Cedar Rapids is looking for a MIG Welder!

General Job Duties: Include, but are not limited to…

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
• Identify and weld components such as beams, angle, c channel and tube  
• Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
• Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
• Material handling, ability to lift 50lbs
• Prep of material to include: cleaning, grinding, bolting of components
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education and Experience:

• A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution or 1 year welding experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of welding, equipment, and manual tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs.
• Outstanding attention to detail.
• Must be able to read and interpret 1/16 scale tape measure
• Have basic computer skills
• Ability or aptitude to learn
• Strong adherence to attendance policy
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 Lbs.
• Must have a weld hood and steel toe boots.

Pay: 

• $18.00-20.00/hr

Hours: 

• 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (Monday through Friday)
