Reach Truck- Forklift Operator

Job Summary:
The Reach Truck Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of reach trucks to load, unload, transport, and stack materials and merchandise within a warehouse or distribution facility. The operator ensures adherence to all safety regulations and guidelines while maximizing productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operate reach trucks to load, unload, transfer, and position materials, merchandise, and other items within the facility.
2. Stack and retrieve palletized goods and materials from racks and shelves at various heights and locations.
3. Conduct pre-operation inspections on reach trucks to ensure proper functioning and safety.
4. Report any mechanical issues or defects with the reach trucks to the appropriate personnel.
5. Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from debris and obstacles.
6. Adhere strictly to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
7. Load and unload delivery trucks, ensuring the accurate counting and documentation of materials.
8. Assist in maintaining inventory control and accurate record-keeping.
9. Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of warehouse operations.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid reach truck forklift operator certification or the ability to obtain certification.
3. Excellent depth perception, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness.
4. Knowledge of safe lifting techniques and material handling procedures.
5. Ability to operate reach trucks and other warehouse equipment proficiently.
6. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move materials for extended periods.
10. Commitment to safety and adherence to all regulations and policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a reach truck forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and processes.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidelines for material handling and warehouse operations.
