Salary: $80,000/year- $90,000/year

Our client, a Canadian Based manufacturer, has developed a reputation for quality and reliability that has many of North America’s largest companies asking for theirproducts by name. 

Their equipment is used in hospitals, pharmaceutical laboratories, microchip manufacturers, universities, automotive manufacturing plants, and countless other institutional, industries, and commercial facilities.  They strive for excellence by continuing to invest in their facilities, their product and their people. We are looking to hire an innovative and solution orientated production engineer to be a part of the team to help grow our rapidly expanding manufacturing facility in Asheville, NC.

This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate, as it is a new facility and is a blank canvas for a high performing and independent engineer. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and manufacturing aptitude and problem-solving skills, along with well-developed interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. 

Working as a Production Engineer, it is important that you can effectively manage changing priorities, are self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced environment.  You must understand lean manufacturing principles, have a high level of mechanical aptitude, be a strong proponent of continuous change and enjoy spending time on the production floor This is a very hands-on engineering position.

Qualifications;

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university (Mechanical or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering preferred, but other concentrations will be considered for the right candidate)
  • Three to ten years of manufacturing experience required

Some of the responsibilities and key characteristics include but are not limited to:

  • Be responsible for implementing and maintaining high safety standards
  • Maintain processes and product to established Quality Control standards
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Ability to propose and implement new processes and process improvements with minimal guidance
  • Project management
  • Provide input and implementation of standard operating procedures
  • Implement lean principles such as takt times, visual management, kaizen, and kanban
  • Be a positive change agent for production processes
  • Liaison between design engineering and production
  • Serving as a technical resource to production staff, customers, and sales

Our client offers an extensive training program that will include training and exposure to fabrication and electrical design, applications engineering at plants in Canada and the state of Washington. This position requires that you be willing and able to travel internationally.
