Express is now hiring for ELECTRO Maintenance Technician, located in the Columbia area at a pay rate of $19.00 $26.00 hourly. This position includes a schedule of Monday through Friday from the hours 2nd and 3rd shift openingsTime: 3-11p, 11p-7a, Work Saturday overtime when needed.Pay 19.00-26.00KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Wastewater Treatment Monitoring: Oversee the operation of wastewater industrial treatment plant pumps, motors, and other equipment to ensure compliance with federal and local discharge limitations. Maintain accurate operational data and logs by reading gauges, dials, and other instruments.Operational Adjustments: Calculate and adjust treatment plant equipment to maintain chemical balances and flow requirements, ensuring maximum efficiency and optimal treatment results.Sample Collection and Analysis: Collect wastewater samples for laboratory tests and perform routine analyses. Read and interpret technical reports as required by Georgia EPD. Use chemicals to treat wastewater as part of IWTP (Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant) operations.System Monitoring and Problem-Solving: Operate IWTP pre-treatment systems and associated SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) displays. Address alarms, correct issues, and communicate with the Building & Support Equipment Foreman and R.S.C.C. via phone and radio.Water Conservation Initiatives: Ensure all MARTA Green initiatives related to water conservation are achieved. Work with Water Shed/Water Authorities, monitor water consumption and rates, sewer usage and rates, industrial surcharges, storm water runoff fees, and calibrate water meters.Maintenance and Repairs: Perform light maintenance and repairs on equipment such as pumps.Boiler Chemistry: Monitor boiler chemistry to ensure proper operation.Starch Making Equipment: Oversee the operation of starch making equipment and perform quality checks.Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.Lifting Requirements: Occasionally lift 30-40 pound buckets.Vendor Communication: Communicate with vendors as necessary.Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred Experience: Experience in wastewater monitoring and/or inspection of a wastewater treatment plant or related industry.Required Knowledge: Understanding of industrial and hazardous waste inspection principles, and local, state, and federal industrial wastewater pretreatment laws and regulations.Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in operating personal computers and using related software. Directly related work experience may substitute for the educational requirement.
