Job Description: Precast Concrete Fabrication Apprentice

Position Summary: The Precast Concrete Fabrication Apprentice works under the direct supervision of a Crew Leader, gaining hands-on experience in the essential skills needed for the fabrication of precast concrete products. This role is designed to provide foundational knowledge and practical expertise in a variety of tasks, ensuring consistent improvement and proficiency in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Basic Skill Development:

  • Setting up and oiling forms
  • Laying mesh
  • Tying reinforcing bars and steel
  • Setting inserts
  • Striking off
  • Stripping forms
  • Cleaning up work areas

• Productivity and Initiative:

  • Actively participates in work throughout the day, either by engaging in tasks related to the fabrication of precast concrete products or by communicating availability to the Crew Leader for other assignments.
  • Shows consistent improvement in the ability to perform assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.

• Attendance and Reliability:

  • Regular and punctual attendance in line with company policy.

• Teamwork and Company Loyalty:

  • Demonstrates loyalty to the company and respect for colleagues.
  • Functions as a team player, continuously seeking ways to improve work processes.

• Safety Compliance:

  • Maintains plant safety standards in accordance with the Safety Manual and Safety Coordinator’s guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Consistent production of high-quality work.
• Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate area and volume.
• Basic understanding of geometry concepts.
• Problem-solving skills, including the ability to define issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills based on customer requirements.
