Job description

  • Follow Illinois Child Care Food Program guidelines for food preparation.
  • Order food from approved vendors and plan meals ahead to minimize substitutions.
  • Ensure meals are nutritious, appealing, and sufficient for children's needs.
  • Maintain kitchen sanitation standards set by health departments.
  • Modify menus with Nutritionist guidance for infants, toddlers, and children with special needs.
  • Serve meals to classrooms and assist with field trip food prep.
  • Assist with nutrition education for staff, parents, and children.
  • Maintain documentation for Illinois Food Program compliance.
  • Participate in emergency drills and safety activities.
  • Attend agency-sponsored trainings and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to self-evaluation and compliance with Program Improvement Plans.
  • Attend staff meetings and agency events as requested.
  • Working independently

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
