We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Preparer to join our client’s team, a fast paced and full service accounting firm. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations, demonstrating the ability to accurately prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals and businesses. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to clients'' financial success and growth.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.

Analyze financial data, documents, and reports to identify tax-saving opportunities and potential risks for clients.

Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on tax-related matters, including tax planning, deductions, credits, and strategies to optimize tax outcomes.

Research and interpret tax laws, regulations, and rulings to stay updated on changes and developments in tax legislation and their impact on clients.

Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders to gather necessary information, resolve tax issues, and address inquiries or concerns.

Assist with tax audits and examinations by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and representing clients as needed.

Mentor and train junior staff members, providing guidance on tax preparation techniques, best practices, and professional development.

Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information and client data.

Utilize tax software and tools effectively to streamline tax preparation processes and enhance productivity.

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor''s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA license preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance, with a focus on complex individual and business tax returns.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in team, department, or organization management.

Deep understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and procedures.

Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte, Drake Tax) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients and colleagues.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of taxation.
