Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Summary: The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our liquid coatings through thorough testing, analysis, and adherence to specifications. This role plays a critical part in maintaining our high standards of production and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct Testing on Finished Liquid Coatings:
    • Perform testing using various methods and equipment to evaluate the quality and performance of finished liquid coatings.
    • Approve batch production for release based on conforming results, ensuring that all products meet the required specifications and standards.
  2. Conduct Laboratory Testing and Qualitative Analysis:
    • Conduct comprehensive laboratory testing and qualitative analysis of production, raw materials, and finished coatings.
    • Utilize testing equipment and procedures to ensure that coatings meet established quality standards.
  3. Provide Batch Adjustments:
    • Make batch adjustments as necessary to ensure that batches conform to specifications.
    • Work closely with production teams to address any issues and maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
    • Report any aberrations, failures, or instances of coatings being out of specification to the QC Manager.
    • Provide detailed and accurate documentation of testing results and any corrective actions taken.
  4. Answer QC Inquiries for Internal Customers:
    • Respond to inquiries from internal customers regarding quality control processes, testing procedures, and product specifications.
    • Provide clear and concise explanations to ensure understanding and compliance with quality standards.
  5. Develop Knowledge of Coating Materials and Production Fundamentals:
    • Continuously develop knowledge of coating materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends.
    • Use this knowledge to answer technical questions from internal customers and contribute to the improvement of quality control processes.
  6. Perform Tasks Safely:
    • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures and guidelines.
    • Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  7. Work with Production and Training:
    • Collaborate with Production and Training teams to resolve product development, improvement, and production issues.
    • Provide expertise and assistance to support continuous improvement efforts and ensure the highest quality standards are maintained.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory setting.
  • Ability to work with chemicals safely.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is typically in a laboratory or manufacturing setting.
  • Exposure to chemicals and fumes is possible.
