Medical Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our clients team at a Internal Medicine Concierge Doctor practice. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of our clinic and providing exceptional patient care. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in a dynamic and patient-centered environment.

 

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients warmly and assist them throughout their visit.
• Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician''s evaluation.
• Record patients'' medical history, vital signs, and chief complaints accurately and efficiently.
• Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures as needed.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and injections under the direction of the physician.
• Perform basic medical procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
• Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care measures.
• Administrative Support:
• Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures in accordance with physician recommendations.
• Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure accuracy and completeness of patient information.
• Handle incoming calls, messages, and inquiries from patients, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers.
• Assist with insurance verification, billing, and processing of medical claims.
• Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, and ensure adequate stock levels.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up care as directed by the physician.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, equipment, and common areas.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and patient satisfaction.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the clinic through continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
• Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably in internal medicine or primary care.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, EMR systems, and basic computer skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards of practice.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, procedures, and protocols.
