Responsible for the full life cycle of the projects estimating to closeout. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills as well, interpersonal skills, highly organized and time management.  Project Managers are responsible for overseeing the project overall from beginning to end for our scope of work. Master planning of our scope on projects while overseeing steel erection operations. In collaboration with Superintendents will have overall accountability for costs, schedule, safety and quality of projects. Work well with clients/vendors while being flexible, positive and an effective team member overall. This position reports to the President.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

          Oversee all aspects of construction project from planning to implementation

          Work with General Superintendent to allocate resources for assigned projects

          Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, clients, and fabricators

          Cultivate and maintain positive, productive relations with project team members, client/general contractor, suppliers, etc.

          Negotiate with fabricators to receive reasonable order costs

          Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications

          Work with General Superintendent to implement safety performance reviews

          Project performance including estimating, budget, quality, schedule, safety, team management, close out and warranty

          Provide oversight of work performed for scope and ensure that quality standards for all deliverables are achieved within established schedules, budgets, and scope definitions

          Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules through interface with clients/vendors, internal production, and fabricators

          Manage all financial aspects of the project including budget, labor hours, equipment and material purchases and ensuring positive cash flow on the project

          Meet with clients/customers to identify potential barriers with resolutions that maximize production and minimize cost

          Manage multiple projects in unison while meeting stringent deadlines

          Daily communication with project team

          Travel 10% of the time

OTHER

          Arrive fit for duty and to remain so for the entirety of the workday

          Works in the main office but may require time out of the office. May have exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather and risk of electric shock

          Immediately report any “near misses”, accidents, and/or injuries to your manager

          Able to see clearly using close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

          Talking, hearing, writing, reading, typing, computer, telephone, 2‐way radio, standing, walking, sitting, bending, using hands and fingers, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouch or crawling for up to 12 hours per day

          Climbing stairs (temporary or other), climb ladders, negotiate work areas under construction, work in high elevations

          Able to feel object, controls, or tools

          Exposed to loud noise, humid conditions, extreme weather including but not limited to heat, cold, rain

          Ability to lift over 25 pounds, with or without assistance

          Range of motion/flexibility

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS

          Minimum 5 years previous experience as a Project Manager in construction management required and steel erection/ornamental metals fields preferred plus a minimum of a High School Diploma plus ten years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience

          Familiarity with construction management software to include but not limited to: Microsoft applications, RedTeam and Monday

          Strong leadership qualities and negotiation skills

          Effectively communicate with staff, team members, clients and vendors

          Must be organized and document all aspects of projects

          Deadline and detail-oriented

          Ability to multi-task on several projects 

          Sound negotiation skills and strong analytical skills.

          Proficient knowledge of fabrication and erection standards and procedures

          Proven written and verbal communications abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and to work independently and as part of a team

          Monday & ProCore experience required

          Clear understanding of construction principles and to read and interpret contract documents

          To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty proficiently

Ability to read and understand contract documents for projects. This includes reading/understanding project plans, specifications, and contract change orders, request for information (RFI’s), and project schedules.
