Line Operator - Powder Coater

A well-established sheet metal fabrication company in the Graham area is adding a dependable Line Operator to their team. Daily duties include placing hooks on conveyor, loading unpainted parts on hooks for painting, off-loading painted parts from hooks, and reworking defective parts.

Hours: 7AM-3:30PM

Pay: $14/Hour

Evaluation to Hire Position 

Job Highlights:

1. Hook Placement:

   • Select and hang hooks with accurate spacing for each part.
   • Set gaps for color changes and ensure no unnecessary gaps in the line.
   • Initiate and cease the line operations accordingly.
   • Store all hooks correctly.
   • Inspect and replace heavily painted hooks, and store them on racks for burn-off.

2. Part Hanging:

   • Hang quality parts on the paint line.
   • Hang parts in the correct orientation.
   • Verify that every hook has the required part.

3. Part Removal:

   • Remove parts from the conveyor.
   • Arrange parts to maintain paint quality.
   • Count, place, and label parts in the correct containers.

4. Rework:

   • Use sander, buffer, abrasive pad, etc., to rework rejected parts.

5. Additional Tasks:

   • Assist the powder paint line area as necessary to meet production goals.
   • Perform required Preventive Maintenance (PMs) as scheduled.
   • Rework parts that have been rejected.
   • Sweep and clean the powder paint line area.
   • Cross-train to perform all tasks in the job rotation.

Requirements of the Job:

1. Measuring and Mathematical Skills:

   • Accurately performs basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
   • Matches parts to tag descriptions.
   • Identifies parts using work instructions.
   • Communicates effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

2. Physical Requirements and Manual Dexterity:

   • Stands and walks throughout the shift.
   • Constantly bends, lifts, and carries; capable of lifting up to 40 pounds intermittently.
   • Skillfully utilizes basic hand and power tools.
   • Has visual acuity to hang parts on moving hooks at arm''s length.
   • Inspects parts visually for defects as they are removed from the paint line and packaged.

3. Preferred:

   • Forklift experience.
