Job Title: Estimator

A leading commercial construction firm dedicated to delivering high-quality projects with precision and expertise is seeking a skilled Estimator to join their team and play a key role in the bidding process and project estimation.

Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Estimator with a strong background in commercial construction. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in estimating, with a focus on handling bidding processes from start to finish. Key responsibilities include reviewing job plans, conducting take-offs, communicating with subcontractors and vendors, and ensuring accurate and competitive bid proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle the bidding process from initial bid to final numbers, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Send out invitations to bid and communicate with subcontractors to gather bids.
Review and understand job plans and specifications to accurately assess project requirements.
Fill in bid templates and compile comprehensive bid packages.
Compile bidders lists, especially for out-of-town projects, and coordinate bid submissions.
Communicate with vendors and manufacturers to obtain pricing and availability of supplies for projects.
Provide project management support as needed, collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator for a commercial contractor.
Strong project management experience and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with lumber and framing take-offs is highly desirable.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy in estimating and bidding processes.
Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
