Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00AM-4:00PM, in-office; Our client recognizes the importance of work-life balance and offers schedule flexibility when needed to meet personal responsibilities. Employees can periodically work remotely to handle things like picking up children or emergencies.

About the Position: Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking an Accounting/HR Assistant to join our client, a rapidly growing electrical and construction company. You’ll have the chance to work closely with all departments, learning the ins and outs of both accounting and human resources roles. Job Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including project managers and contractors, and enter all applications and necessary information into software system
  • Manage payroll duties efficiently, including assisting with basic payroll tasks such as ensuring that time entries are submitted and approved by Monday
  • Perform Accounts Payable tasks as assigned
  • Oversee employee certifications and licenses, ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Execute month/year-end closing procedures with precision, and assist by ensuring all employee credit card receipts are captured
  • Implement Work in Progress (WIP) procedures effectively
  • Utilize Deltek software proficiently to streamline operations
  • Assist with miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years’ relevant experience in Accounting required; HR experience preferred
  • Construction industry knowledge strongly preferred
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred, though candidates with a high school diploma and accounting experience are encouraged to apply
  • Proficiency in Excel required
  • Ability to calculate and report WIPS is highly desired
  • Experience in reconciliation and month/yearly closing procedures is required
