JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources department. The position functions as a consultant to management on a broad range of complex human resource management issues that may have system-wide impact; consults and advises management on labor relations, civil rights complaints, discriminatory harassment complaints, and other human resources issues. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm, with every other Friday off! Competitive benefits! The salary is DOE. 

Job Accountabilities:

  1. Oversees such functions as recruitment, staffing, employment processing, and compensation, has oversight and administers health and volunteer benefit programs, plan administrator for retirement plan, provides training and development, budget preparation for salary and benefits, and administers the workers compensation program.
  2. Resolves employee relations issues including interpreting company policies, coaching, counseling and discipline.
  3. Maintains appropriate personnel record and is EEO compliant. Prepares and maintains job documentation, job evaluations and company salary structure.
  4. Consults with insurance brokers to survey and obtain coverage trends, and costs; responds to insurance proposals from brokers and consultants and makes recommendations for coverage and provider changes. Explains and communicates employee benefit programs and services to employees. Makes recommendations on changes to 401(k) and insurance plans to ensure cost containment and employee satisfaction.
  5. Provides daily direct supervision, performance evaluations, development and disciplinary action for direct line staff.
  6. Establishes and maintains good customer service with clients and employees to meet their needs.

Education/Experience:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related area. May substitute additional experience for education on a year for year basis. Five years of relevant experience in Human Resources. Previous experience in leadership or management role.

  • Good leadership skills and project management skills.

  • Skilled in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising staff
  • Strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of laws, human resource system rules, Federal and State laws.
