Electronics Test & Solder Supervisor | Batavia, OH 

DIRECT HIRE | 1st Shift | $50-58k, Based on Experience

 

Express Employment Professionals Cincinnati East is now hiring to fulfill a direct hire opening for an Electronics Test Supervisor in Batavia, OH. This role will oversee daily operations and personnel in the solder and post-surface mount testing processes. This role leads by example to ensure the highest quality standards are consistently met, accomplished by executing preventative measures and leading the production team(s) in established quality standards. 

 

Core Functions & Duties: 
Planning

• Lead by example. Demonstrate a positive attitude and communication skills.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance. 
• Plan daily production for solder and test areas based upon current and incoming work.
• Schedule overtime and create action plans to assure schedules are met.
• Oversee and monitor to ensure all manufacturing order build quantities are verified for accuracy and that jobs are built completely in one batch, unless the Production Management directs otherwise. 
• Appraise & report production orders status in production meetings. Accurately predict cell output within half day.
• Communicate regularly with all team leaders to keep production on schedule and achieve our goal of 100% on time delivery.
• Determine techniques for accomplishing work.
• Communicate daily with material handlers on the priorities for job setup. Ensure components are available to meet planned schedules.
• Evaluate staffing needs & communicate them to the Production Manager and work together to staff the cells appropriately.
• Monitor and maintain training records as required.
• Administer disciplinary action when situations arise. Report all necessary disciplinary actions to Production Manager and work collaboratively on any major incidents.


Continual Improvement
• Continually develop skills and provide training to employees where needed to improve production efficiency.
• Monitor all rejected boards to identify failure trends and report findings to the proper support personnel.
• Improve quality in all areas of the production process. Operate your cells with the premise that all cells following your cell are customers.

Production
• Inform all employees of production plans. Develop team engagement, and form team effort to achieve daily goals for your cells.
• Assist all employees with verification and startups on all production orders within the cells.
• Throughout each day, periodically verify all in process production in the cell for accuracy and quality. Report any issues to quality and production managers.
• Evaluate production efficiency by performing time studies. Log run times and communicate target times to employees for the product they are working on and hold them accountable for their numbers.
• Appraise & recommend process improvements where needed.
• Assess and determine root cause and proper corrective action for any lot(s) rejected t inspection.
• Identify and quarantine defective product for containment of the defective assemblies. Ensure product is tagged appropriately.
• Oversee and direct all production boards rejected and required rework due to defect or part shortage. Ensure defects/reworks have top priority to catch up to the balance of the order and maintain on time delivery.
• Monitor to ensure all products are tagged appropriately with job cards and that shop travelers are filled out completely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Test Process/Duties
• Provide technical assistance to all operations. Interpret electronic schematics, diagrams, and drawings.
• Demonstratve fluency in troubleshooting electronic circuits to find root cause of failure.
• Proficient use of electronic test equipment such as: oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generator, frequency counter, etc.
• Monitor, maintain, and control all test equipment- internal and customer supplied.
• Oversee proper documentation of all test processes. Must review all test procedures for accuracy on a regular basis. Understand and create detailed test procedures as needed.
• Confirm products that have failed test have troubleshooting and repair performed in a timely manner to achieve on time delivery.
• Communicate and collaborate with customers in regard to test issues (testers not working properly, test procedure changes, etc.) or specific board related issues as needed.
• Effectively communicate with all management and supervisory staff. Housekeeping.|
• Monitor & maintain a clean and orderly cell.

• Exhibit initiative and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of how to recognize problems and conflict and respond in a positive, constructive manner.
• Strong and clear communication skills with the management and production teams to resolve production issues.
• Priority on quality of product and new improvements to process.
• Effective monitoring and development of training needs for team members.

 

Qualifications, Education, and Other Experience: 

• Associate Degree in electronics (or equivalent) 
• 2-3 years'' experience in a supervisory role 
• Ability to work in prolonged positions: sitting, standing, frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and occasional lifting as required. 

Schedule: 1st Shift
Pay: $50-58k, based on candidate experience
