Reports to: Plant Manager
Leads: 3 Operators, 1 Packaging Coordinator, 3 Material Handlers
Expected Results/Performance Areas:
1. Preforms Plug Production:
Supervise the production department.
Take immediate steps to remove obstacles and eliminate unnecessary downtime to achieve production goals.
Work with Maintenance and Quality to troubleshoot machines and resolve production and/or quality issues.
Responsible for coaching, education, and necessary discipline of staff along with related documentation.
Coordinate with other shifts to ensure effective production handovers.
Ensure quality products are made efficiently, adhering to job instructions and established quality procedures.
Supervise the use of PPE and ensure adherence to safety policies.
Support Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean strategy.
Maintain consistent communication with purchasing and shipping.
Ensure availability and quality of (raw) materials.
Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) for raw materials.
Ensure produced parts are available to meet shipping schedules.
3. Support to Plant Manager:
Advise Plant Manager on production/organization-related topics.
Assist in the recruiting and onboarding of new hires and temporary workers.
Assess/evaluate performance.
Analyze production activities and recommend or implement corrective actions.
Report technical faults/malfunctions to Plant Manager.
Support Plant Manager on ISO topics.
Collect data and compile reports about production, including reporting production.
Collect time-card data and submit for employees and temporary staff.
Education/Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing experience and 2 years of Supervisory experience. Maintenance background will be a plus.
Fluent in English; bilingual in Spanish desirable.
Valid Forklift Certificate.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Problem-solving skills; Yellow Belt or above preferred.
Experience with ERP systems and Office package.
Knowledge of ISO systems is desirable.
