About Us: Express Employment Professionals is seeking a shipping Meter Reader in the area! We are a full-service Staffing Firm where we work with companies in East Texas that have full-time, part-time and temporary. Since we cannot guarantee placement, there is no fee for using our services.

Job Description: We are currently seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Meter Reader to join our team. As a Meter Reader, you will be responsible for accurately recording utility consumption readings for residential and commercial properties. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring accurate billing and efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Travel to assigned locations to read utility meters (electric, gas, water, etc.) using handheld devices or manual methods.
• Record accurate meter readings and report any discrepancies or irregularities.
• Communicate with customers in a professional manner when necessary.
• Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely meter readings.
• Maintain accurate records of readings and report any issues or concerns to supervisors.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing duties.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license 
• Ability to walk long distances and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately record data.
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Basic knowledge of utility systems and metering processes is preferred but not required (training will be provided).
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Ability to lift and pull at least 50 pounds
