Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking a Plating Room Helper to join our client’s established team in Dartmouth. Our client is one of the premier manufacturing companies in Nova Scotia and is an expert in hard chrome plating. This role would suit someone who is comfortable around chemicals and is keen to begin a career in a niche industry.

 

Responsibilities:

• ·         Working with plating tanks including by not limited to chrome, nickel, acids, rinse tanks
• ·         Review work instruction sheet, receive, count, and inspect parts prior to process, and ensure hardware traceability is maintained
• ·         Required to perform all preparation prior to plating (e.g. Cleaning/masking/blasting)
• ·         Calculate the surface to be plated, determine number of loads, and calculate the amperage per square foot/inch.
• ·         Process parts according to specifications, perform post-process dimensional and visual inspection of the appearance of coating
• ·         Strictly follow Company policy and procedures, verify for calibration and maintain in good working condition instruments, gauges, equipment and touch up chemicals for expiry date
• ·         Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout department and work facility

 

Requirements:

• ·         Lift up to 50 lbs.
• ·         The ability to multi-task, must pay good attention to detail.
• ·         The ability to work in a physically demanding, fast paced environment, in a safe manner
• ·         The ability to meet production targets and deadlines
• ·         Willingness to work frequent overtime on weekends
• ·         Friendly, organized, and hard-working
• ·         Basic math skills
• ·         Ensure use of personal protective equipment, as per station requirements, is always worn.

• ·         Pay is $18-$22 per hour
• ·         Monday to Friday schedule 7.30am-4.30pm
