Job Duties:
- Conduct thorough inspections on incoming tools, packaging components, merchandising materials, and other purchased items to verify compliance with standards. Collaborate with vendors to address any discrepancies.
- Collaborate closely with the Production team to supervise the installation and upkeep of new machinery. Coordinate with electricians and other professionals to ensure the accurate setup of equipment.
- Record and assess product compliance with specified requirements such as dimensions, finishes, colors, and packaging functionality.
- Validate and authorize finished products for inventory, maintaining meticulous records of inspection outcomes through reports and logs.
- Formulate, suggest, and oversee corrective and preventive measures, including the upkeep and enhancement of Corrective Action Forms (CAF).
- Investigate customer inquiries regarding non-conforming tools, pinpoint the root cause, and propose effective solutions to address the issue.
- Assess training requirements for production cells and coordinate training sessions accordingly. Provide guidance to production operators on visual product acceptance to uphold quality standards.
- Spearhead enhancements in workflow, equipment, and assembly processes to streamline and fortify inspection procedures.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Product Management teams to complete, submit, and maintain Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for all products and packaging necessitating ECN alterations.
- Offer technical assistance at trade shows as necessary.
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; engineering degree preferred.
- 8-10 years of proven track record in quality engineering within manufacturing or production settings. Experience in the consumer goods sector is desirable.
- Comprehensive understanding of quality testing equipment, test methodologies, and the ability to develop test fixtures.
- Over 5 years of expertise in new product development and field testing.
- Proficiency in CAD software and adeptness in interpreting blueprints, product specifications, and test results.
- Over 5 years of hands-on experience with packaging equipment, contemporary packaging techniques, and materials. Familiarity with pad printing and laser marking equipment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment layout, and system requisites such as electrical, HVAC, pneumatic air, and plumbing.
- Over 5 years of experience managing a large quantity of part numbers.
