Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled and reliable Night Shift Construction Laborers experienced with pot hole repairs on behalf of our client in Northeast Calgary.
You will be responsible for identifying and repairing potholes on roadways to ensure safe and smooth travel for motorists. Your duties will include assessing the extent of damage, preparing the repair site, and applying appropriate materials to fill and seal potholes. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of roadways to identify potholes and other pavement defects.
- Safely and efficiently repair potholes using appropriate tools and materials, such as asphalt, cold patch, or other fillers.
- Prepare repair sites by cleaning debris, removing loose pavement, and ensuring proper adhesion of repair materials.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as jackhammers, asphalt compactors, and paving machines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and the public regarding repair schedules, traffic control measures, and other relevant information.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and must have a reliable vehicle.
- 5 year Commercial Driver's Abstract with no more than 3 demerits.
- Prior experience with operating Asphalt hot box and Plate tamper
- Prior experience in road maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of pavement repair techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy objects.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) repeatedly.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery safely and effectively.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor work environment exposed to various weather conditions (e.g., heat, cold, rain).
- Exposure to loud noise, dust, fumes, and other hazards associated with construction work.
Schedule:
Sunday-Thursday from 8:00PM-6:00AM (10 hour shifts)
