Location: Texarkana, AR

Pay: $40-50K DOE

Hours: Monday – Friday

Job Summary:  To oversee the safe handling and storage of all food items, manage operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and ensure food bank compliance with all food and warehouse safety regulations. 

 

Reports To:  Executive Director                

 

Job Duties:

Supervisory

1. Assign responsibilities to any warehouse safety staff and/or volunteers to ensure cleaning and maintenance schedules are followed, and regular self-inspections are completed.
2. Provide leadership and training, as needed, to ensure that all work is completed in a correct, safe, and timely manner.
3. Report all injuries and complete all related paperwork immediately.

 

Operations

1. Responsible for becoming proficient in food safety standards, specifically AIB Food Safety Audit Standards. 
2. Responsible for enforcing sanitary, safe food handling practices in the warehouse.
3. Responsible for food bank compliance with all warehouse safety and food safety regulations (Feeding America, AIB Audit Standards, USDA, State Health Departments)
4. Oversees warehouse operation areas, including pest control, maintenance, and repair, as needed.   
5. Prepare reports for Feeding America, and Executive Director concerning all building activity, including monthly documentation of cleaning and temperature logs, and self-inspections.
6. Assist with accurate data entry in the Food Bank inventory control system, when needed.
7. Prevent losses of equipment from theft, through regular inspections of equipment in and around the warehouse. 

 

      Other

1. Assist with food drive collection, fundraising activities, etc. as needed.
2. Travel as required to perform duties as well as occasional attendance at regional and national meetings, conferences, and training.
3. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Experience    

1. Prior Food Bank experience preferred.
2. Prior warehouse safety experience highly preferred
3. High School diploma or GED required.
4. Bachelor’s degree: 2-5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
5. Drivers License with clear driving record required.
6. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with diverse clientele and staff.
7. Strong communication and management skills
8. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks
9. Strong problem-solving skills in a team approach
10. Professional demeanor and respect of others’ opinions and participation
11. Strong attention to detail and record keeping.
12. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
