Key Responsibilities:
- Promoting and Implementing Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies: Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies, fostering a culture of safety within the workplace, and actively contributing to meeting policy objectives.
- Accident Reporting: Promptly report all accidents, incidents, and near misses to the Safety Department in accordance with company procedures.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel toe shoes as required by company standards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate any machine, product, or production-related issues to the Maintenance Manager to facilitate timely resolution and optimize operational efficiency.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to set up and operate a variety of machine tools including lathes, milling machines, band saws, surface grinders, radial drill presses, bench grinders, and various hand power tools used in machining and assembly.
- Training and Experience: Completion of an apprentice program with a licensed professional or established company is required. One to three years of experience working in a die shop is preferred.
Equipment Used:
The Tool and Die Maker will be responsible for utilizing computer-controlled and mechanically controlled machine tools to produce precision metal parts, instruments, and tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit/stand for periods of up to 8 hours.
- Repetitive grasping and gripping with hands.
