Yard Worker / Forklift Operator

Salary: $15.00/hr

Introduction: We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Yard Worker to join a leading towing company in Volusia County. As a Yard Worker, you will be responsible for performing various tasks to support the efficient operation of our yard, including organizing vehicle storage, and operating a forklift as needed. This position requires a hardworking individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and some experience operating forklifts.

Responsibilities:

1. Vehicle Organization: Assist in the organization and storage of vehicles within the yard, including positioning vehicles for efficient access and retrieval. Ensure that vehicles are properly spaced and stored according to company guidelines.

2. Vehicle Inspections: Assist with vehicle inspections as directed by management, including documenting vehicle condition, mileage, and any damages or defects. Report any issues or concerns promptly to the appropriate personnel.

3. Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to move vehicles, equipment, and other materials within the yard. Follow all safety protocols and procedures for forklift operation to prevent accidents or injuries. Prioritize safety at all times.

4. Yard Maintenance: Perform general maintenance tasks to keep the yard clean, organized, and free of debris. This may include sweeping, mowing, and other landscaping or maintenance duties as needed.

5. Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management tasks, including conducting regular inventory counts, recording inventory levels, and replenishing stock as needed. Keep accurate records of inventory transactions and movements.

6. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other yard workers, tow truck drivers, and office staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and prioritize workload.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a yard or similar outdoor environment preferred.
• Forklift certification and experience operating a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle operations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
