A client in McKinney, TX is seeking a Medical Receptionist!

 

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30AM-5PM

 

Overview: As the first point of contact for the clinic, the Medical Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment and facilitating the smooth operation of our healthcare services. This position requires exceptional organizational abilities and a commitment to compassionate patient interaction.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Answering Phones and Patient Interaction

    • Answer phone calls with empathy and care, addressing patient anxieties, responding to inquiries, taking detailed messages, and directing calls to appropriate staff.
    • Greet and check in patients, ensuring a warm and professional reception. Confirm patient identity through two-factor verification (mailing address and date of birth).
    • Process patient check-ins using our medical software to manage forms such as Acknowledgement of Benefits, Notice of Privacy, and Conditions of Treatment.
    • Notify clinic staff of patient arrivals and ensure that patient charts are prepared and encounter forms are printed.
  2. Appointment Management

    • Maintain and print daily appointment schedules for reception and medical staff.
    • Schedule, reschedule, and follow up on appointments, ensuring compliance with health and billing requirements.
    • Communicate changes in appointments to patients and clinic staff, and manage cancellations efficiently.
  3. Scheduling and Changing Appointments

    • Scan and update patient IDs and insurance cards at every visit, verify current insurance details, and communicate any changes to relevant staff.
    • Maintain up-to-date patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  4. Collecting Payments

    • Handle payment transactions including collecting fees, co-pays, and deposits.
    • Ensure accurate processing of payments and provide receipts to patients.
    • Manage daily financial records, including scanning and distributing encounter forms.
  5. Mail and Order Processing

    • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
    • Fulfill and process online orders, including refunds, and maintain postal supplies.
  6. Clinic Support and Maintenance

    • Assist medical staff, administrators, and provide support as needed.
    • Offer refreshments to waiting patients and maintain a tidy reception and lobby area.
    • Manage inventory of snacks, beverages, and receptionist supplies.
    • Handle administrative tasks like filing, chart preparation, and data entry.
    • Participate in staff training and complete weekly tasks as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide patients with information on local accommodations and travel.
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy of all clinic interactions.
  • Maintain a clean lobby area throughout the day (daily cleaning tasks as assigned)
  • Creating, filing, prepping, and pulling patient charts
  • Monitor snack & beverage inventory
  • Maintain Receptionist supplies inventory

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting (up to 50 pounds) and navigating stairs.
  • Previous experience in a clinical environment is preferred.
