Plastics manufacturing company looking for a technician for their tool room!

 

Ideal candidate will have some form of molding or tooling experience in any manufacturing environment: metal, plastics, rubber, etc. 

 

Mon-Thurs, flexible schedule

Start time around 7am

$22-$25++ depending on experience

 

Primary Duties: Performing preventative maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs of production tooling. Coordinate physical and electronical inventory of stored tooling components including maintaining inventory of commonly used hardware supplies. 

 

-Assemble/disassemble existing and new production tooling.

-Coordinate production scheduling and tool room scheduling.

-Coordinate inventory of all tooling components.

-Inspect tolling for defects and damage, perform preventative maintenance, cleaning, die sharpening, and minor repairs as needed.

-Using proper forms, submit major repairs or replacements of tooling components.

-Use a variety of precision measuring devices to verify accuracy of work. 

-Assist with producing prototype samples for customers as needed.

-Maintain forklift certification.

-Complete and submit all required documents, reports, forms, and other paperwork as needed.

-Maintain clean work area, and comply to worker safety and food safety policies, and work rules. 

 

Job Requirements:

-Ability to work with minimal supervision.

-Ability to identify hardware sizes including bolt sizes and thread sizes.

-Ability to learn how to perform drilling and tapping operations, and installing Heli-Coil thread repair hardware.

-Ability to use hand and power tools.

-Experience with vertical milling machines, drill presses, bandsaws, and other machinery a plus, but not required. Willing to train candidates on machinery.

-Math and ruler skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

-Requires basic computer skills and the ability to look up scheduling, produce written reports, and enter data onto a common spreadsheet program.

Physical Requirements: 

-Hand dexterity

-Regularly lift 50lbs

-Duties require full range of motion and ability to walk, talk, hear, sit, reach above shoulder, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, depth perception, color vision, distance vision, close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
